Are you a licensed Contractor who carries all proper insurances?
Yes, we have a Class B license (#798323), issued by California’s Contractors State License Board. We carry Workmens Compensation Insurance, provided by State Fund. In addition, we carry Liability insurance, provided by Allied Insurance.
Why can’t you give estimates over the phone? Why do you need to see my job in person?
Every job has its own peculiarities. For example: Access to the work area may be a problem or there may be architectural details that need preserving and a higher amount of attention. There is no way to predict the extent of any of these types of issues over the phone. We also find that as a General Contractor we have a better ability to understand and describe the scope of work if we first view the work area and its surroundings, the residence’s conditions and extent of the work to be completed. This way, our Bid Proposal is as accurate as possible.
Do you tend to stay on schedule and on budget? Does weather effect the schedule?
We take pride in delivering all of our customers an exceptional construction package. We keep an aggressive schedule for each of our jobs to finish the project on time and within our budget allowances. Typically, weather issues do not hold up our schedules. We take proper precautions and stay well prepared for any expected acts of God.
How long does the estimating process take?
After an initial walk-through and meeting to discuss the proposed scope of work please allow up to two weeks for our Bid Proposal submission. If you are inquiring about a small job, $100,000.00 or less, please allow up to one week for our Bid Proposal Submission.
Do you complete the work yourself, or do you subcontract it out?
Art of Construction tries to complete everything in house. Any subcontractors that we employ typically work strictly for AOC and have a long relationship with our company. All subcontractors must carry all proper insurances before being eligible to work with AOC.
